Suicide Prevention Program

If you or someone you know needs immediate help, please contact 911, our local 24-hour crisis line or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

The Suicide Prevention Program is focused on prevention and early intervention for those affected by suicide. Our goal is to prevent loss from suicide through education, intervention training and reducing stigma associated with suicide. As part of the Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services, Healthy Communities Division of Public Health, we are primarily funded by the Mental Health Services Act (Proposition 63).
  1. Suicide Prevention Training

Suicide prevention and intervention trainings are offered to those working with at-risk populations and for all members of the community.

  2. Technical Support and Capacity

The Suicide Prevention Program offers community support in building a framework for suicide prevention and crisis intervention in organizations and schools.

  3. Reducing Access to Lethal Means

Provides guidance on how to identify lethal means and how to keep them secure.

  4. Suicide Prevention Resources

Local and national resources providing suicide prevention, safety planning and survivor support services.
